Just a little while longer before you’ll need to break out the wet naps at Sam’s Town. Big Mess Bar-BQ will take over the shuttered, Old West-themed Billy Bob's Steak House & Saloon space later this month, replacing a familiar Las Vegas steakhouse menu with a Southern-tinged focus and meats "dry-rubbed & smoked low & slow over a blend of Hickory, Red Oak & Applewood."
Located next to the resort’s central Mystic Falls Park attraction, Big Mess is now accepting reservations for Monday, Oct. 24. Only serving dinner, opening hours will be Monday, Thursday and Sunday from 4 to 10 p.m and closing later on Friday at Saturday at 11 p.m. Guests looking for a mid-week meat-centric experience can head to Sam’s Town’s other recent upgrade, The Angry Butcher, which replaced another dining fixture, Willy & Jose’s Cantina.
On the Big Mess Bar-BQ menu, "Messed Up" platters featuring Texas-style dry-rub and& smoked beef brisket, barbecue roasted chicken, Carolina pulled pork shoulder, barbecue smoked pork spare ribs or smoked and grilled sausage. Sides include hush-puppies, fried okra, collard greens and buttermilk biscuits.
Appetizers include pork rinds, barbecue shrimp, deviled eggs and brisket fries, featuring shredded barbecue beef brisket piled over crisp seasoned fries with horseradish sour cream and fine tobacco onions.
Promising hearty portions for their fried catfish, salmon or baby back ribs entrees, if you can make room, they will also feature fruit cobbler, pecan pie, coconut crème cake and bread pudding for dessert.
