Here it is, Masaharu Morimoto’s very first restaurant at the MGM Grand, opening on Friday night inside the former Shibuya space.
The Iron Chef once planned to make his Las Vegas debut at the Mirage, but the move further south on the Strip has created a more complementary environment for the international star.
The 5,542-square-foot space has been designed by Yabu Pushelberg and also hosts "exotic photographs" by Yasumichi Morita.
Open for dinner only, daily opening hours will be Sunday to Thursday from 5 to 10 p.m. and closing at 10.30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
The space features a sushi bar and teppanyaki, or hibachi tables, where meals will be created "before your eyes on a hot iron plate." On the menu, some of the greatest hits from the current Morimoto empire and a unique to Las Vegas vodka and sake cocktail.
All week, chef Morimoto has been spotted encouraging guests to make money at their blackjack tables and spend it at his restaurant in a new promotional video. Go ahead and take a look around.
