Mimosas Cafe launched in San Jose, California, in January of this year, but the owners have already expanded 535 miles to the southeast, debuting Mimosas Gourmet in Spring Valley.
Taking over the shuttered, 2,400-square-foot Pho Vietnam Grille Express corner space at the Spring Mountain and Durango Plaza, the casual cafe sits across from Desert Breeze Park. Mimosas will be open for breakfast and lunch and once the restaurant secures its liquor license, it can begin liberally pouring the signature namesake cocktails.
On the menu, plenty of freshly squeezed orange juice and generous portions of breakfast classics, like the $13.95 chicken fried steak and eggs, a full range of "skillets" that arrive with two eggs and a homemade biscuit and huevos rancheros priced at $11.99. The restaurant also serves omelets such as the $12.99 shrimp, crab and Jack cheese, plus scrambles, Benedicts, pancakes, waffles and French toast combinations including bananas Foster and Nutella S’mores.
