A fixture in Ocean City, Maryland, since 1976, Fractured Prune Doughnuts is now ready for customers to customize their own doughnuts at a retail center at the intersection of Flamingo and Ft. Apache roads.
Following the model of the franchise's 27 other outlets, Spring Valley customers take a pen and a menu and pick their glazes and toppings before the doughnuts are fried and served hot from the open-plan kitchen.
Single doughnuts are priced at $1.79, with a dozen available for $14.99.
Custom creations already on the Las Vegas menu include the "French Toast" made with maple glaze and cinnamon sugar, the "Ms. Prunella," created with mixed berry glaze and cinnamon sugar and the "Bacon Bomb," topped with maple glaze, cinnamon sugar and bacon. There is no prune flavor option on the menu.
The brand's original location was founded on a plot of land owned by Prunella Shriek, who even into her 70s would compete with men in highly physical sports, earning the the nickname "Fractured Prunella" for her numerous injuries.
