Another expansion from California headed our way, this time to Henderson and for a change, it is not a famous brand name.
Ricos Tacos El Tio operates three fast-casual outposts in Gardena, Inglewood and Lynwood, serving made to order Mexican dishes and earning a loyal following for their authentic tacos. The restaurant will be headed to 1430 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway, not too far from Stephanie Street and take over a shuttered Jack In the Box, neighboring Metro Pizza and a Timbers Bar & Grill.
They will be keeping the drive-thru set-up and the 2,852-square-foot restaurant. Initial opening hours are expected to be 8 a.m to 10 p.m daily.
On the menu, lengua, carnitas, cabeza and buche tortas, quesadillas, birria de chivo, a slow steamed goat stew with mild chili seasoning, tacos, including beef head and pork stomach choices and the sometimes hard to find option in Las Vegas, vampiros, served on a crispy corn tortilla.
Still working its way through the City of Henderson approval process, an estimated debut date has not been revealed.
