How To Eat and Drink Your Way Through the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas

The National Finals Rodeo has taken over the Strip with cowboys, Stetson hats, boots and big buckles. Restaurants and bars are responding with specials for rodeo fans. Here, a look at some of the deals rodeo fans can score.

Bazaar Meat by José Andrés at the SLS Las Vegas has a rodeo prix-fixe menu for $125 per person with rodeo classics such as Buffalo-style bison, Texas rib eye, piquillo peppers "Julian de Tolosa," grilled asparagus, Robuchon potatoes and more.

Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

Chandelier Bar at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas has specialty cocktails including Acting Single, Drinking Double with Jack Daniels Single Barrel, grapefruit, Campari and ginger, garnished with a pink grapefruit slice and sprig of thyme; Friends in Low Places with Jack Daniels Honey, grilled pineapple and vanilla, garnished with star of anise; Knocking Boots with Jack Daniels Fire and Apple mix, garnished with an apple chip; Southern Gentleman, an old fashioned cocktail with Gentleman Jack and Cinnamon, garnished with an orange swath; Not My First Rodeo with Crown Royal Vanilla Old Fashioned cocktail, garnished with an orange zest; Walk the Line with Crown Royal Apple, Apple Cider and Ancho Chai, garnished with an apple chip; and Whiskey Makes Me Frisky with Crown Royal, lemon and ginger beer mix, garnished with candied ginger.

Don Vito’s at the Silverton turns into a replica of Silverado Steak House and offer matching menu items, including an assortment of Italian classics and favorites among the Western lifestyle crowd with items ranging from appetizers, salads, soups, entrees and more. During National Finals Rodeo, the restaurant will open nightly at 5 p.m. Silverado Steak House is also open nightly from 4:30 to 11 p.m.

Head to Gold Diggers, Rush Lounge, Stage Bar and Ice Bar for NFR specialty drinks and drink specials throughout the week. Among the specials offered are Coors or Coors Light for $5.50; a bucket of five beers for $27 featuring Coors and Coors Light; shots of Jack Daniel's or Jack Fire with Coors or Coors Light for $10; a shot and a beer starting at $10 featuring Crown Royal, Crown Royal Apple, Jim Beam, Jim Beam Apple, Coors and Coors Light; specialty cocktails from Jack Daniel's, Maker's 46 and Bacardi 8; and shots starting at $7 featuring Jim Beam and Jack Daniels.

Oscar’s steakhouse at the Plaza has a special barbecue-glazed porterhouse steak with crispy onions on top, served with mashed potatoes for $55 as well as two specialty drinks: the "Buc Up" a tequila cocktail with Crème de Casis, fresh lime juice and ginger beer, and the "Last Ride" made with Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, Seagram’s 7, Jim Beam bourbon, apricot liqueur, simple syrup and lime juice. The Plaza’s casino bars will also have several drink specials, including: "You Call It" shots of Crown Royal Canadian Whiskey for $3, Bud or Bud Light with a shot of Crown Royal for $7, a Crownberry Apple shot for $5, and a shot of Crown Royal or Crown Apple for $4.

La Cave at Wynn Las Vegas serves up a 5-ounce Dragon Milk Stout flat iron steak with roasted fingerling potatoes, topped with a cherry bourbon sauce, priced at $24. A signature rodeo bourbon flight will feature 1-ounce pours of four ultra-premium bourbons: Roan’s Creek, Noah Mills, Jack Daniels Single Barrel and Eagle Rare, priced at $37.

Crush at the MGM Grand serves a 12-ounce charred New York sirloin with mashed potatoes, priced at $38. The restaurant will also offer a bourbon flight featuring 1-ounce pours of Angel's Envy, Jefferson's Very Small Batch, 4 Roses Single Batch and Bernheim Original Straight Wheat Whiskey, priced at $38.

Beer Park at Paris Las Vegas has the guacamole burger, a 100 percent beef brisket burger, cooked over Budweiser beechwood and hardwood charcoal, topped with spicy pepper jack cheese, chipotle mayo and crispy jalapeño peppers, priced at $10.95; the pulled pork sandwich, 12-hour beechwood smoked, bone-in pork shoulder, covered in barbecue sauce and a jalapeño slaw, priced at $11.95; and the meat and potatoes, prime rib cap steak served with crinkle cut garlic fries, lemon and black pepper baconnaise, served "picnic style" for sharing, priced at $25.95.

Hard Rock Hotel has a Western-themed rodeo breakfast buffet for $17.99 at the 24-hour Mr. Lucky’s Café. Mexican cantina Pink Taco has Chicharron-style pork belly tacos for $4, short rib enchiladas for $14, Mar y Tierra for $25 and Oaxacan chicken mole for $18. The resort’s 35 Steaks + Martinis has bourbon-glazed baby back Ribs for $15 as an appetizer, and entrees including double cut Berkshire pork chops for $42 and cowboy surf and turf for $75. Goose Island Pub has beef stroganoff smothered biscuits for $14. NFR cocktail specials are available at all casino bars and include Honker for $5, made with Maker’s Mark, Cruzan Mango and lemon lime soda; Hazer for $5 with a mix of Maker’s Mark, DeKuyper Mixologist Collection Ginger Liqueur and fresh apple juice; and Heller for $5 with Maker’s Mark, Cruzan Black Cherry and Coke.

Giddy up and join the fun at Crazy Horse III for Chicks ‘n’ Chaps, a rodeo celebration complete with Jack Daniels, Bud Beer and Jack Fire shot specials from Thursday, Dec. 1 through Saturday, Dec. 10. NFR attendees land free entry as well as a Jack Daniels or Bud Beer beverage with proof of rodeo attendance. Plus, Crazy Horse III will offer $3 Jack Fire shots while viewing the rodeo on the club’s many high-definition televisions.
