One of the hottest restaurants of the year from the moment it opened, talk of an expansion for "vegan fast-food" pioneer VegeWay began within days of its debut. A rumored location inside a former Arby's, close to the Boulevard Mall, was floated and there has been talk of Henderson. But Centenial will be the site of Las Vegas' second "all vegan drive-thru."
Taking over a shuttered Braddah's Island Style counter service spot at the retail center at the intersection of Centennial Pkwy. and Durango Dr., VegeWay creator and chef Kenny Chye and his team registered this expansion back in November. The vacant space now features a small VegeWay menu informally stuck to the window.
No major construction is underway, but an early 2017 debut is expected.
The southwest original, at the corner of Jones Boulevard and Robindale Road, continued the success of chef Chye's Chinatown restaurant, Veggie House.
The VegeWay "plant-based fast food" menu includes vegan burgers, vegan popcorn chicken, French fries, sweet potato fries, curly fries, VegeWay patties, vegan fish tacos, fried zucchini, a vegan beef sandwich, a vegan chicken wrap and vegan milkshakes.
The same retail center will also see the arrival of the third Distill tavern early next year, from the creators of Remedy’s Tavern and Elixir.
