Claiming the title of San Padre Island's "best Italian restaurant" couldn't save Gabriella’s Italian Grill & Pizzeria from shuttering its sister restaurant in Las Vegas.
A couple of months shy of its second anniversary in a corner spot close to the Truffles N Bacon Cafe at the Regal Colonnade retail center, family friendly Gabriella’s has closed, leaving the brand with their original Texas location and an Oklahoma City expansion.
Featuring a patio and regular Rat Pack-themed musical accompaniment, the former Round Table Pizza location offered a wood-fired, brick-oven pizza and an Italian-American menu anchored by specialty dishes like lasagna and ravioli, family style servings and a proud recipe for meatballs.
The interior decor included nods to the "Old Country," with a faux balcony draped with washing hanging out to dry and a display of serving plates signed by local celebrity guests. No replacement for Gabriella's has been announced.
