Serving UNLV and the Strip since April 1973, Al's Donuts has shuttered their East Harmon location, leaving fans to head to Centennial for their twists on "kronuts," "Krossants," apple fritters and cinnamon rolls.
Al's work could also be found around town, providing doughnuts to Cafe Presse at the Venetian, the Silver Sevens Casino & Hotel and were the doughnut supplier for the El Cortez coffee shop. Their menu also included bagels, sandwiches, coffees, teas and in recent years they had achieved notoriety for their Krossant invention, a culinary merging of a croissant and a doughnut.
While the unfussy university location has gone, their second retail outlet is still in business, inside the Cafe Burger, located at Tenaya Village in Centennial Hills.
