Calling itself "Iowa's top sports bar," but also staunchly waving the flag for UNLV sports, The Fieldhouse Vegas is very close to an expansion to Industrial Drive.
An Iowa institution since 1927, The Fieldhouse has locations in Cedar Rapids and Davenport, with Dave Carey, owner of their Iowa City branch, behind the push west.
The 3,920-square-foot tavern joins neighboring storefronts in such diverse professions as tailoring, fingerprinting and exotic dance wear at the Bianca Plaza, located behind the Fashion Show mall and close to the rear entrance to Circus Circus. Inside will be room enough for a maximum of 188 revelers.
The long arrival process dates back to 2014, but construction work is now well underway and while the project is pro-Hawkeye at heart, the tavern is very heavily committed to creating a home way from home for UNLV Rebels fans. They have been painting the main room in scarlet and gray and have framed the door in "Rebel red."
Previously promised for the menu, pizzas, hamburgers and tenderloins, an iconic favorite of Iowa. A gaming license was also part of the original plans.
Now hiring, the Fieldhouse Vegas is promoting they are "opening soon!"
