Following news that L.A.'s Dirt Dog is headed to Las Vegas, another Southern California hot dog expert is readying to debut locally within a matter of weeks. Dog Haus Biergarten will take over the 2,525-square-foot, former Johnny Rockets burger restaurant space at the Paradise Esplanade, across Paradise from the Hard Rock Hotel.

The corner location will import Dog Haus' "craft casual hot dogs" on grilled King's Hawaiian Rolls, plus sliders, tater tots, the Pig Lebowski polish kielbasa, their Pig and The Fig, a cheese-stuffed sausage with fig-onion relish, plus a corn dog made with a root beer batter.

Also on the menu, The Fonz made with "hot Italian sausage, pastrami & melted mozzarella" and the Scott Baioli dog created with "smoked bacon, white American cheese, garlic aioli, caramelized onions."

The franchise has a bold expansion agenda, aiming to ultimately reach 100 outposts and since debuting in Pasadena, Calif., in June 2014, they are already located in Utah, Colorado, Arizona and Texas and eleven sites in California.

The Las Vegas project has been in the works since last July, but the Dog Haus team expects to be fully up and running by early March.
