Debuting at 4 p.m. February 3, with their first pre-dinner "social hour," Alder & Birch brings a Las Vegas Strip style and sensibility to The Orleans, with the new cocktail and steakhouse concept replacing their former Canal Street restaurant.
The $2,077,000 construction project first revealed in September, has created a warm and open plan space, with a wall to ceiling glass entrance-way. Inside, eight seats at the bar and over a dozen armchairs in the lounge sit close the the main dining room separated by a fireplace.
The main room features cream and dark wood seating, table and accents, in a nod to the Alder & Birch name. On the menu, appetizers like a half dozen oyster for $12 "sushi grade ahi tuna" priced at $14 and a $14 lump crab cake. A Caesar salad option is $8.
The steak selection features the "grass-fed 16 oz ribeye" for $41, an 8-ounce filet mignon at $27 and a $41, 14-ounce New York strip steak. Add on steak toppings include an organic fried egg and sauteed bone marrow.
Other dishes include the $35 oven-roasted sea bass, $58 Australian lobster tails and a Colorado lamb rack for $36.
Signature cocktails are priced at $10 each and are headlined by the Alder And Birch Maple Manhattan made with "Knob Creek smoked maple Bourbon, maple syrup, Angostura bitters, sweet Vermouth, candied bacon strip."
