Karina’s Hot Dog at 790 N. Eastern Ave. was shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District after a routine inspection on Friday, Feb. 19.
Health inspectors discovered a that the restaurant had no potable or hot water, an imminent health hazard that called for the immediate shutter of the restaurant.

SNHD also found 13 other demerits, including staff not washing their hands properly, an inadequate number of hand-washing sinks and more.
Inspections dating back to 2007 resulted in an A grade for the restaurant.
The health district conducts unannounced inspections at least once a year. Inspections are posted online about five days after the inspection. The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
