The second Novecento Pizzeria created by chef Marc Sgrizzi quietly shuttered at the end of last year, but already a replacement is on its way. Sushi Hiro from owner Masahiro Oshima will fill the former pizza destination at the Sansone Park Place retail center and is rapidly speeding through the Henderson permit process.
Sgrizzi debuted this Novecento in August 2013, serving Neapolitan style pies from a 900 degree, almond wood-fired oven. His original Centennial branch opened in December 2012 and remains in business.
The Novecento brand was meant to expand to even more locations, but a Spring Valley expansion lasted less than a year. Sgrizzi has since shuttered his Parma by Chef Marc and is now operating Chef Marc's Trattoria, an "authentic Tuscan-style restaurant," on the west side.
A timetable for the arrival of Sushi Hiro has yet to be announced.
