Still in a soft open mode, the former Bernard's Bistro is back in operation with a new name, but a menu that pays direct tribute to the late chef and namesake restaurateur Bernard Tordjman.

While opening times have yet to be set in stone and no announcement has been made if they will be serving a future lunch, CB's Legacy is advertising a menu of "California and European cuisine" and promoting an "inspired fresh diet."

Located on Henderson's Sunset Road, already held over are most of the dishes that earned the chef a loyal local following. Almost all the original dinner selections have been retained, including Escargot Belle Epoque, Dungeness crab cake, Bufala Mozzarella Caprese and Cajun fried calamari.

Also making the cut, a classic onion soup and the Knife & Fork Bistro Caesar Salad. Entrees include pistachio salmon in lavender wine sauce, sesame crusted ahi tuna, rib eye steak au fromage Roquefort, plus seared scallops and crunchy frog legs.

Printed on the menu is the explanation that the dishes were created "with love and care."

Part of the new management team is Chanthy Walsh, who runs both the Mexican- and California-inspired Sonrisa Grill and steak and seafood restaurant Essence & Herbs at the Montelago Village at Lake Las Vegas. Essence & Herbs occupies the original Bernard's Bistro space that shuttered in early 2015 after eight years in business.
