You can practically smell the Swedish meatballs and lingonberries in the air. Ikea now teases that it will swing open those blue and yellow doors of its 351,000-square-foot store at 215 Beltway at Durango Drive near Sunset Road on Wednesday, May 18, marking the very first store in Nevada and the 42nd in the United States.

With it comes a 450-seat restaurant serving up those Swedish specialties such as salmon plates, meatballs with lingonberries and more. A 1,200-square-foot Swedish food market will offer frozen meat, fish, seafood and easy to prepare dishes alongside Nordic-inspired desserts, candy, sauces and condiments. Cafe Bistro is also part of the design.

The location will be "Nevada’s largest single-use retail rooftop solar array, consistent with the solar presence at 90 percent of its U.S. locations." Inside, find almost 10,000 exclusively designed items, 50 inspirational room settings, three model home interiors and a supervised children’s play area.

Want to be one of the first through the doors? Get this. Ikea is letting customers line up at the debut on Monday, May 16, a full 48 hours before the store opens.
