The Goodwich is now serving in a "very soft opening" mode after finally uprooting their small, downtown sandwich shop from the parking lot of Dino's Lounge into a permanent set-up at the former Resnick's Market inside the Soho Lofts.
They currently plan to debut full time on Monday, April 25, when they also intend to begin a delivery service. Final opening hours will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, with an expanded menu of their cult-favorite, bread-centric items.
The previous compact menu has now been expanded to 16 sandwich options and includes the "Sea Smoke," made with smoked fish, remoulade, onion jam, tomato and greens, the "Hawkeye" stacked with crispy pork, green chile ketchup, mustard, pickles and onion and their version of a Cuban and grilled cheese sandwich. Prices range from $4 to $10 for a Reuben.
New salads include the "Cobb-ish," a kale choice, the "Uber Tuber" and sides like house pickles, chips, quinoa and cauliflower.
In early May they plan to launch their breakfast service, already scheduled to feature toasted choices like the "Fun Guy" made with "shrooms, goat grits, green chiles, scallion, broke yolk and pepper aioli" and dishes served "with toast" like the "3 Lil Birds" creation of turkey, duck, chicken, root vegetables, salsa verde and two eggs.
