Poor Gordon Ramsay. A French maitre d’ told Ramsay that a couple just got engaged, but the man had not yet proposed when he sent over champagne to celebrate. "When the champagne arrived I went over to congratulate them — and he hadn’t asked her!" he told a crowd at Vegas Uncork’d. In true shouty chef form, Ramsay says he berated the waiter, who got his tenses mixed up. [Telegraph]

Six Las Vegans get a shot at winning Gordon Ramsay’s Masterchef when the new season debuts on June 1 on Fox. Ramsay teams up with chef Christina Tosi as they pare down 40 home cooks to one winner, who takes home $250,000. Celebrity chefs this season include Wolfgang Puck. The Las Vegas Sun reports that home cooks from Las Vegas include bartender D’Andre Balaoing, poker player David Williams, truck driver James Woods, DJ Shaun O’Neale, restaurant manager Shawn Norris and karate instructor Will Staten.
