Welcome to the world of paid parking on the Strip. Starting on June 6, MGM Resorts International properties start charging for parking. That means self-parking kicks in at $8 and valet parking will be $13 a day at Monte Carlo, Luxor and Excalibur. Circus Circus valet will also charge $13 a day but self-parking will remain free. Swankier casinos such as the Bellagio, Aria, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, Mirage and New York-New York plan to charge $10 for self-parking and $18 for valet parking per day. The Vdara and Delano, which do not offer self-park, also will charge the higher rate for valet. AP reports that the first hour of self-parking will be free and those who park for less than four hours will get a discounted rate. Nevadans catch a break. They get free self-parking for up to 24 hours through Dec. 29 with a local ID. [AP]
The most exciting thing in Guy Fieri’s life right now? His new wine label, Hunt & Ryder, made with David Estates. Success reports that each bottle retails for $40 and $75 with a limited number of cases available. The label gets its name from Fieri’s two sons, Hunter and Ryder. “Putting their names on this makes it one of the most important things I’ve ever done,” he told Success. [Success]
