Sushi burritos continue to be the year's big food craze and local originator Jaburritos is now officially serving in Spring Valley, inside a retail center at the intersection of Rainbow and Patrick.
Created by chef John Chien Lee of Soho Japanese Restaurant, Lee split with his business partner, choosing to operate the equally successful Soho SushiBurrito in the original space. He'll be also be expanding to Spring Valley later this year, to the Beltway Commons retail center.
The Jaburritos spin-off now occupies a 1,589-square-foot home, close to Rosallie Le French Café, still featuring the same Jaburritos logo and design.
The menu will also be very familiar to the patient lines of customers who made the original such a hit. Guests can order Jaburritos, wrapped in options like seaweed paper or a tortilla, Jachos, built over corn or taro chips, or a Jabowl, featuring salad or rice.
Individual proteins include spicy tuna, grilled steak, tofu, salmon and soft shell crab, or diners can opt for the "chef creations" combinations.
Opening hours are Monday to Saturday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m and until 8 p.m. on Sunday.
