Work began on a from-the-ground-up, 23,400-square-foot, five building retail center at the corner of Rainbow and Badura last year. Now, all but 6,800 square feet of the completed project are left to lease, but missing is the first Nevada home of Texas institution Fuzzy's Taco Shop.
Still scheduled to slot into space 2B, Fuzzy's was first revealed to be heading to Vegas last July. New paperwork filed this month indicates they have been delaying serious work on their 4,159-square-foot project, including the new addition of a 648-square-foot covered patio with room enough for 44 guests.
The estimated $350,000 allocated for construction costs will eventually create a home for beer, margaritas, "fuzzy drivers," plus their twist on Mexican street fare like burritos, nachos, quesadillas, breakfast dishes. Fuzzy's signature item, their "baja style tacos," is created with feta cheese, a combination frequently described as "addictive." The company still touts the location as "coming soon."
Earlier this week and a short walk away, PizzaRev debuted the second of three planned local outposts. The first opened in Henderson in January.
PizzaRev cooks their individual sized Roman-style pizzas in three minutes, inside a four-ton, 900-degree stone hearth oven. Guests choose their own sauce, cheese and up to 30 ingredients. Both locations are now open from 11 a.m to 10 p.m daily.
The retail center is already hosting fellow causal dining options, Yogurtland, Farmer Boys and Café Zupas.
