Ben Jenkins, the executive chef at Michael Mina’s eponymous restaurant at the Bellagio, leaves behind the restaurant to take over Mina’s new restaurant opening in Waikiki's redeveloped International Market Place.

Mina plans to open two restaurants in Hawaii. One, his first multi-concept gourmet food hall, called The Street, takes over a 12,500-square-foot-space on the International Market Place's first level with Japanese ramen and classic American barbecue as well as specialty handcrafted cocktails and "omiyage" culinary souvenirs, according to Pacific Business News.

Mina also plans to open a third StripSteak in an 8,600-square-foot space on the the International Market Place's third-floor grand lanai.

Jenkins has been the executive chef at Michael Mina since 2011. He worked as the executive chef at StripSteak at Mandalay Bay from 2006 to 2011, and before that, as the executive chef at Seablue, now Pub 1842, at the MGM Grand from 2003 to 2006. He graduated from the New England Culinary Institute in 1998.
