Confirmed: L.A.'s Canter's Deli to Tivoli Village

First revealed in March, Tivoli Village has confirmed Los Angeles' legendary Canter's Deli will become a signature attraction when their long awaited 370,000 square feet restaurant and retail expansion finally debuts the October. Years in the making, the enormous new addition to the retail and office center, labelled Phase Two, will be anchored by a Restoration Hardware.

Yet to be announced by the center, Canter's Deli is scheduled to occupy a 5,600-square-foot space, built with an estimated production cost of $2.2 million. The landmark Fairfax Ave. delicatessen has been serving movie stars, musicians and locals around the clock since 1931. No word yet if the Tivoli Village location will keep a 24-hour schedule.

Hoped to debut around the same time, Canter's is also constructing a second deli at The Linq, adjacent to the High Roller entrance. The 4,200-square-foot space will take over the planned home of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips, who is moving along the promenade, closer to the Strip. Construction at the Linq had been estimated at $1.4 million, with very early renderings hinting at a familiar diner style interior, with plenty of booths and a restaurant counter for take-out.

From 2003, until a 2012 shutter, Canter's operated a smaller outpost at Treasure Island.
