Downtown's Grass Roots Sets Shutter Date

Shane Stuart and Nichole Hester's mission to insert some healthy lifestyle choices into Downtown will end later this month, a week short of their second anniversary operating the Grass Roots Juice Bar.

Located in the John E. Carson Hotel commercial development, a Facebook post confirms June 10 will be the last day to sample the Grass Roots menu of organic juices, smoothies, soups and ice creams.

The news follows the reveal Stuart will be moving his base to Boca Park to create Panacea, set to feature a "100% organic whole foods plant based menu" and also operate a "healing center." His earlier Panacea Tea & Elixir Bar concept was once planned to debut next door to Grass Roots, with renovations well under way before the location was abandoned.

Hester is not part of the Panacea project and has not announced her future plans. The remaining tenants on the John E. Carson ground floor are Carson Kitchen, Japanese restaurant Bocho and the recently opened Donut Bar.
