Max’s Restaurant, the Filipino eatery on the east side at 1290 E. Flamingo Road, came within two points of being shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District after a routine inspection on Monday, June 6.
Mex's Restaurant demerits
Health inspectors found staff not properly washing their hands, food unprotected from contamination, ineffective pest control measures, unposted grade cards and more during the 39-demerit inspection.
The restaurant has earned two other C grades since inspections started in 2013 as well as one B grade. The seven other inspections earned an A grade.
The health district conducts unannounced inspections at least once a year. Inspections are posted online about five days after the inspection. The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
