SAM’S TOWN — The changes keep coming to the resorts under the Boyd Gaming umbrella. Next up, Willy & Jose’s, the Mexican restaurant, which just closed for renovations. For the time being, Roberto’s Taco Shop, which opened on June 1, is the only Mexican dining option at the resort. The quick-service dining outlet stays open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. GOLD COAST — The Cortez Room shuttered on June 6 for renovations. While the restaurant remains closed, Ports O’ Call Buffet will serve prime rib on its carving station from Sunday through Thursday. [EaterWire]
LAS VEGAS — ChiAm Restaurant, the local fast casual Chinese restaurant, is giving away a trip to China. The restaurant is sending two people on a 10-day vacation to Beijing and Shanghai. The contest ends on Sept. 30. Guests can enter the contest once a day at either location. [EaterWire]
SPRING VALLEY — PT’s Entertainment Group opened its 50th tavern, PT's Tavern, on June 9 at 6450 S. Durango Drive. A new Sierra Gold tavern will open on West Flamingo Road later this summer, at the site of the former Sedona Restaurant & Lounge. Also of note, all PT’s restaurants and bars now serve the company’s own beers. Look for PT’s Brewing Co.’s Horizon Ale, a cream ale brewed with light malts and American hops; the Hualapai IPA, a hopped West Coast-style IPA; and Sean Patrick’s Irish Red. Brewmaster Dave Otto’s Horizon Cream Ale and Sean Patrick’s Irish Red go for $5 by the pint and Hualapai IPA sells for $6 per pint. [EaterWire]
