Last month, chef Felix Arellano's Viva Las Arepas cryptically announced they would soon be expanding to a second location, but withheld the exact location. Now, the secret is out, with new signage promising they are "opening soon" at the Mercado Del Sol Shopping Plaza, at the southeast corner of Rainbow and Charleston.

The corner space provides plenty of parking, no close dining rivals and joins the retail center's anchor tenants, Honeybaked Ham Co. and Cash America-Super Pawn.

In 2011, Arellano debuted his Venezuelan menu of cornmeal patties, arepas and wood-fired chicken, beef and pork at a stand in the parking lot of Dino's Lounge. In early 2013, he moved a short distance north on Las Vegas Boulevard to his current bricks and mortar home and neighbor to his other venture, artisanal batch gelato shop Art of Flavors.

Viva Las Arepas has yet to announce their new home or a timetable for arrival.
