Chef David Clawson’s ambition to bring a rare example of fine dining to Henderson came to an end in October of last year. His David Clawson Restaurant battled a problematic location and a struggle to engage the local Anthem community and nearby Henderson residents. He explained to Eater Vegas, during the restaurant's final months, "I just couldn't drum up enough business to cover basic expenses."

Now a replacement has been found for the vacant 2,500-square-foot corner space at the Anthem Highlands retail center, home to China Tango Bistro and a Roberto’s Taco Shop.

New Day Café will be arriving later this year, serving a breakfast and lunch menu already found in the southeast since 2011, at the intersection of Silverado and Bermuda. New Day used to operate a branch in the southwest at Rainbow and Robindale, before a 2013 shutter. The owners also operate a New Day Cafe in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The new expansion has yet to announce an opening date or further details, but their current restaurants operate on a daily 7 a.m to 3 p.m. schedule, featuring a familiar Southwest and American-inspired casual menu including omelets, pancakes, waffles, wraps, sandwiches and burgers.
