After eight years of 24-hour Korean tabletop grilling, Chinatown’s Honey Pig Korean BBQ is expanding, taking a 12-mile southwest journey to the Silverado Park Place retail center.
Operated by Jake Lee, the restaurant has generated a loyal following despite a slightly hidden location, a close neighbor to Joyful House and the Crown & Anchor British Pub in Chinatown.
Honey Pig specializes in all-you-can-eat dishes, grilled and prepared at your table by staff on a dome-shaped cast iron grill. Options include beef brisket pork belly or neck, spicy squid and teriyaki chicken, plus side dishes of banchan, including pickled vegetables. They also serve macaron ice cream sandwiches for dessert.
A very busy casual food hub, the Silverado Park Place is already home to destinations like Pin Kaow Thai, Twin Peaks Henderson and Nielsens Frozen Custard. Honey Pig will slot into suite 100 at 9550 S. Eastern Ave., in the southern end of the center, a short walk from Hot N Juicy Crawfish.
Now hiring, the new home is expected to be granted a beer, spirit and wine license in early August, a strong hint opening day will not be far behind.
