Seattle-based Mexican restaurant and tequila bar chain The Matador had once hoped to debut their first expansion to Las Vegas over the July 4 weekend, but the team have now firmly set their sights on a new fixed date and started a countdown clock heralding their opening date.
Casa Del Matador will begin serving 128 tequilas on July 28, alongside a full menu of "zesty Mexican cuisine." Metalwork is a distinctive design element at their 11 Washington, Colorado and Oregon state locations and co-founder Zak Melang personally creates all the ornate tables and bar tops. The other hard to miss accent will be the mounted bull skulls augmented by local artists.
Located not far from Andiron Steak & Sea, the 4,306-square-foot space will be open Monday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to midnight and until 2 a.m. on Friday.
Weekend hours of 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m to midnight include a weekend brunch served from opening until 2 p.m. At their previous locations, breakfast tortas, huevos rancheros, "Mexican sweet bread french toast" and mimosas and Bloody Mary's are menu highlights.
The Matador will also offer a daily happy hour from 4 to 6 p.m and 10 p.m to 1 a.m.
