The world's largest Benihana debuted in Las Vegas at The International resort, today the Westgate, more than 40 years ago and now has a sibling location right on the Strip.
The built from scratch, 7,600 square-foot restaurant sits in the middle of the Fashion Show mall plaza, with a patio offering raised views over Las Vegas Boulevard to the Wynn and Encore resorts. Created with an estimated construction budget of $2,143,277, inside hosts a sushi bar, cocktail lounge and 18 of the brand's famous teppanyaki tables, where chefs prepare their dishes with theatrical flair.
The bar is open to the Strip and the patio has enough room for 12 tables. Both serve a Monday to Friday, 3 to 6 p.m happy hour, including cocktails, sake, a $16 Blue Ocean punch bowl for two and small bites like $4.50 California or spicy tuna rolls, $6 karaage chicken and their $8 filet mignon yakitori.
Lunch is available daily from 11 a.m to 3 p.m., leading straight into dinner service. The main menu is highlighted by five-course meals, served with onion soup, salad, hibachi shrimp appetizer, vegetables, dipping sauces, steamed rice and Japanese tea, plus a choice of tofu, steak and chicken, seafood, or house specialty choices like "center cut tenderloin served with a steamed cold water lobster tail."
