Less than one year after sliding into the Hawaiian Marketplace, Pete Rose Bar & Grill is no more. A tipster reported the bar dark and multiple calls to the location went unanswered. Vital Vegas reports that Rose’s name "has been unceremoniously blacked out on the restaurant’s signage."
Major League Baseball's all-time hit leader nicknamed Charlie Hustle took over the briefly open People’s Republic last year on Oct. 15 with a 9,000-square-foot restaurant, bar and Strip-side patio across from Aria.
The menu featured Pete Rose specials, which honored the three cities where Rose played ball: Cincinnati chili on spaghetti represents the Cincinnati Reds; a classic Philly cheese steak gives a nod to the Philadelphia Phillies; and a spin on poutine honors the Montreal Expos.
Inside, the 6,700-square-foot bar and dining room was decorated with art installations and historic pieces from Rose’s 28-year career as a player and coach in Major League Baseball
