The neighborhood immediately south of McCarran International Airport isn’t swarming with many non-chain dining options and provides even less opportunities for regional cuisines. Now, there’s a second chance to to try some Thai dishes in a corner space briefly occupied by Hollywood Noodle Thai until last year.
I am Thai Cuisine has taken over the 3,420-square-foot property at the Placid Corners retail center, already home to La Bocce Pizzeria and a PT’s Pub, at the intersection of Warm Springs and Placid.
On the menu, which also features lunch specials from 11 a.m to 3 p.m, soups, salads, noodles, fried rice options, familiar twists on Thai staples such as pad Thai and curries, plus a range of "special dishes."
Among the house specialties, the $12.95 black mussels with roasted chili paste, a $14.95 "scallop chu chee," prepared with seared scallops and red curry sauce and "spaghetti kee mao" created with stir fried spaghetti, onion, tomato, carrot, basil and seafood.
