Albuquerque-born pizza chain Pizza 9 has arrived on the eastside, the first in an aggressive development plan to enter the very crowded Las Vegas pizza marketplace.
Created in 2008, the company specializes in Chicago-style deep dish pizzas and calzones. Their first location fills the 3,021-square-foot Janita Plaza space vacated by Nosh & Swig almost two years ago, close to the intersection of Flamingo and Sandhill roads.
On the menu, Buffalo and barbecue wings, bread nuggets with cheese, a "Fire Eater" pizza made with pepperoni, jalapeños, green chili and hot giardiniera and their 12-inch "deep dish dough" calzones.
The restaurant also offers chicken artichoke Florentine soup, a Chicago beef and Italian sausage sandwich served with au jus and for dessert, cheesecake and tiramisu.
Nine more Las Vegas Pizza 9s are scheduled, but confirmed locations have yet to be revealed.
