A new sushi restaurant is not taking itself too seriously and serving familiar and offbeat dishes, custom rolls and some super-hero inspired sushi burritos. Sushi chef Chu-Chu has adopted the alter ego of Captain Chu-Chu at Sushi Hero, inside the shuttered Hello Tokyo at the Paradise Marketplace, close to the intersection of Flamingo and Sandhill.
Chu-Chu's gregarious personality was formerly seen at Sushi Way and Jjanga Japanese Restaurant. On the menu and joining the current sushi burrito food craze, the $5.95 tuna salmon and yellowtail "Superman," the sweet beef "Hulk" and a spicy tuna and crab "Batman" creation.
The full menu features 27 special rolls, including the "Candy Cane," "Burning your Stomach" and the "James Bond," 32 choices of sushi and 10 deep fried rolls, like the $8.95 Golden Philadelphia created with avocado, salmon, cream cheese and eel sauce.
Teriyaki bento boxes arrive with eight pieces of California roll, shrimp and vegetable tempura and an appetizer, soup and salad. Cheese croquettes, baked corn cheese and deep fried oysters are among the 25 different appetizers.
Their core attraction is the all-you-can-eat deal, priced at $21.95 for lunch and $26.95 for dinner.
