"Fin-addicts" alert, Sharky’s Woodfired Mexican Grill is on the way. It took 10 months, but the California-based franchise has finally found its home in Las Vegas. Sharky’s is creating a 2,915-square-foot, built-from-scratch restaurant on an empty plot close to the intersection of Decatur Boulevard and Blue Diamond Road. A covered patio is already part of the plans.
Founded in 1992 by Steve Paperno, the vegan-friendly concept serves Mexican-American fusion dishes created with "fresh, natural and organic ingredients." The restaurant uses no MSG or lard in its cooking and in an unusual move for a casual chain, delivers dishes on ceramic plates and hands out metal cutlery.
Popular options include Sharky's quinoa salad, tacos, stone fired pizza, craft beer, "wild-caught fish" burritos and "naked" fajita bowls.
Their "Fin-Addicts" reward program awards guests one point for every dollar spent. Reach 100 points and you earn $7 to spend at your next visit.
Paperwork on a second, 2,825-square-foot location at a Summerlin retail center has also been filed. That site is currently occupied by another still-operating restaurant and it is unclear if the present staff have been notified of the future shutter.
