Pho D’licious, the Vietnamese restaurant in the Spring Oaks Plaza Shopping Center at 4631 Spring Mountain Road next to Joyful House, came within two points of being shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District after a routine inspection on Aug. 29.

SNHD inspectors found that the staff wasn’t properly washing their hands, food unprotected from potential contamination, food from an unapproved manufacturer, unposted grade cards and more during the 39-demerit inspection.

Nem Nuong Bistro, restaurant that used to occupy this space, was shut down by the health department in 2014 with 50 demerits.

Pho D'licious just opened this year with a menu of more than 50 traditional dishes.

The health district conducts unannounced inspections at least once a year. Inspections are posted online about five days after the inspection. The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
