After less than three months, Pacific Creationz Hawaiian Kitchen has shuttered at the Hawaiian Marketplace, the only dining option at the Strip retail center to cater to the namesake Ninth Island spirit. Pacific Creationz served plate dishes including loco moco and chicken katsu, poke bowls and "slidahs" and "burgahs" served on Hawaiian sweet rolls.
Followed an even briefer residency by The Lobstah Trap, earlier this year, Fukuburger also threw in the towel serving in the former Zingers location, despite indoor dining and a large patio. Pacific Creationz hinted at a possible cause of the turnovers via social media, hashtagging, "#locationlocation." They also noted they are looking for a new Las Vegas home.
A few short steps away, the former Pete Rose Bar & Grill is currently still open as a nameless Sports Bar & Grill following the departure of the baseball legend, but won't be for much longer. The operators of Sugar Factory are hurrying to replace it with their latest concept, Down N’ Dirty Tacos and Tequila Bar. They recently debuted in South Beach, Florida, last month, the first of a planned chain of casual Down N’ Dirty locations.
Already promised for the casual taco spot is a "colorful and playful decor" and "more than 50 types of margaritas, mojitos and daiquiris."
On the menu, "guacamole, carne asada and tacos," plus "unique takes on Mexican cuisine, such as the Mexican Pizza." The bar is currently hiring for all positions.
