An international cuisine switcheroo has taken place at Henderson’s Eastern Commons Shopping Center, with the French and European casual concept Yanni's French Bistro replacing the middle eastern menu of Duzan Mediterranean Cafe and Tapas.
Located next door to Crepe Shack & Waffles, close to the intersection of Eastern Ave. and Coronado Center Drive, the 1,800-square-foot French restaurant serves lunch and dinner.
On the compact menu, hors d'oeuvres like an $8 French onion soup or "Brie de merlot," and a $6 "Parmentier Soup" created with "pureed potato, leeks and herbs topped with creme fraiche."
Entrees are served with sauteed vegetables and a small salad or cup of soup can be added for an additional $1.50. Choices include their $15 "chicken cordon bleu" and "beef haché," a "finely chopped filet mignon sauteed with a merlot sauce." Plus, the $19 lamb chops, "marchand do vin," and a $16 salmon dish, "saumon à Paris." A current customer favorite is the $19 baked one-pound lamb shank, served with a red wine and cognac sauce.
Wine can be order by the glass or bottle and their selection of mini pastries are made in-house.
Fans of Duzan Mediterranean Cafe can still find their menu at their original location, the Amena Bakery Cafe located at 2101 S. Decatur Blvd.
