Old School Brewing Co., the 24-hour brewpub at 8410 W. Desert Inn Road, closed after almost two year in business. The pub featured a 200-seat family restaurant that served breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Brewmaster Jim Wilson, a former race car mechanic who was the brewmaster at Barley’s Casino & Brewing Co. from 2004 through 2010, brewed beers from his 200-recipe catalog including session beers such as Homeroom Hefeweizen, Pale Ale 101, Varsity Vanilla Porter, ABCD ESB (Extra Special Bitter) and March Irish Red Ale. When it opened, two of the Old School beers were made with locally grown hops, and all the guest beers that filled the taps were from Nevada. The bar side had 80 seats.
The restaurant’s menu featured fried cheese curds, potato chip nachos and beer-battered bratwurst with tots as well as pizzas from executive chef Lea DeForte.
