Bank Atcharawan’s Next Big Project — Desserts

First came the wine program at Lotus of Siam, where Bank Atcharawan helped the Thai restaurant gain national attention and tamped down the heat of dishes with deep and enviable list of wines such as German Gewürztraminers. Then came Chada Thai & Wine, where Atcharawan put his own spin on Thai dishes and brought his knowledge of wines. On to Chada Street, with its delicious list of Thai street food.

Now comes The Patio Desserts & Drinks, opening in late February at 5255 S. Decatur Blvd., Suite 107, in the same shopping center as Goyemon Sushi.

Atcharawan tells that he’s "trying something completely new to me. It will be interesting."

The 1,453-square-foot will feature a patio and garden theme, currently in the build-out stage.

On the menu, Atcharawan plans to serve Thai rolled ice cream, Hong Kong waffle, honey toast, and other dessert specialties. The drinks include coffee using beans from a local roaster, tea and specialty drinks.

The interior with have a patio/garden theme. The project is in a build-out stage. Once open, the restaurant plans to feature 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. hours.

As for both Chada Thai and Chada Street, partners Bon Atcharawan, Bank’s brother, and Aime Wanmaneesiri will take full control of day-to-day operations while Bank sticks around as a .consultant on both wine programs. "So everything will be the same for both Chadas," Atcharawan says. "Expect the wine list to be awesome as ever."
