The shuttering of McCormick & Schmick’s at the Hughes Center last month might have been a surprise to fans of a classic steak steak and seafood menu, but to parent company Landry’s Inc., it was all part of an efficient master plan.
As predicted, Landry’s has already replaced the 10,346-square-foot steakhouse with the staff and menu of one of its sibling concepts, Claim Jumper. In turn, the company closed down the nine-year old outpost at Town Square.
Creating a more laid-back and family-friendly atmosphere, the Flamingo Road restaurant is now open daily from 11 a.m. to 9.30 p.m., closing an hour later at 10.30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Offering delivery services through Grubhub, a happy hour menu has also launched in the saloon, featuring small bites priced between $2 and $10, including pizza and burgers, plus $8 cocktails such as the Botanist Strawberry Collins.
The casual American menu can still be found at Claim Jumper’s other homes in Henderson, near Summerlin on the west side and at downtown’s Golden Nugget resort. A replacement at Town Square has yet to be announced.
