Status: Open Monday to Saturday from 11.30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and closing at 9 p.m on Sunday.

First, Joon-Yong Chod launched his Japanese restaurant Umami at the Montecristo Crossing retail hub and now Centennial has its very own dedicated destination for ramen.

Now serving at the Centennial Center, Ichi Ramen House has debuted its 1,106-square-foot corner spot next door to Port of Subs and close to the intersection of Tropical Parkway and Centennial Center Boulevard.

Originally named Ichiran, the shortening may have been to avoid confusion with a decades old Japanese chain. The prime location features Cinnaholic as a neighbor, plus Rolled Ice Cream promising arriving a November or December arrival and build-your-own pizza concept My Pie under construction a few steps away.

Offering booth and table seating, the Ichi Ramen menu includes $2.95 edamame, $4.95 gyoza or takoyaki crispy octopus and $5.95 chicken karaage among the appetizers, plus tempura choices like the $6.95 Brussels sprouts.

Ramen options priced between $7.95 and $8.95 include the “classic tonkotsu,” shoyu, miso and chicken choices, with "signature ramen" selections like the $11.95 tomato seafood, curry or vegetarian dishes. For $1 extra, tofu, crunch garlic and spicy pork miso are among the toppings that can be added.

The restaurant also serves fried rice, salads, a handful of of sushi rolls and mochi ice cream and cheesecake for dessert. Beverages include Japanese sodas and beer, hot tea and hot and cold sake.
