Bobby Mao’s To Replace Chevys at Galleria at Sunset

Announced by the Henderson mall last month, Bobby Mao’s Chinese Kitchen & Mexican Cantina now has a confirmed location at the Galleria at Sunset.

Only the second restaurant for creators Bobby and Tina Mao, the fusion concept will take over the 7,000-square-foot shuttered home of Chevys Fresh Mex, right next to a main entrance and neighboring a Red Robin burger outpost. Until the multi-million dollar makeover conducted over the last two years, the pair were the sole full-service dining options at the Galleria.

With a look by Lebo Design, currently working on Kitchen Table Squared at The Gramercy, Bobby Mao’s will follow the model of the Westfield Mall Palm Desert, California, original, hosting a main dining room, plus a “sophisticated bar and lounge space with TVs, plush couches and booths.” Yet to be confirmed, the restaurant can take advantage of the existing patio space.

Aiming for an early 2018 debut, serving lunch, dinner and a daily happy hour, a menu preview includes dishes like Asian tacos and sliders, lettuce wraps, Mao's Special Chow Fun, kung pao scallops and moo shu pork. On the Cantina side, "flaming fajitas" chimichangas, enchiladas, burritos, and entrees like slow roasted pork carnitas, or chicken mole.
