SEOUL, KOREA — Dosa, the Korean restaurant from Las Vegas-based chef Akira Back, earned its first Michelin star from the guide this month. The former professional snowboarder turned chef has been on a tear lately opening restaurants in Bangkok, Hanoi, Jakarta and Delhi. In Las Vegas, he has Yellowtail Japanese Restaurant & Lounge at the Bellagio with Japanese fare and Kumi Japanese Restaurant &+ Bar at Mandalay Bay with his Korean-American twist on traditional Japanese dishes. LAS VEGAS — Masaharu Morimoto, who has his eponymous restaurant at the MGM Grand that just turned one, teases that he’s considering a ramen restaurant in Las Vegas. NEW YORK CITY — Christina Tosi’s Milk Bar raised its first round of venture capitalist funding, which the pastry chef plans to use to expand into more cities nationwide.
