A dim sum chain has revamped a Mexican restaurant and created an new Italian concept at the Boulevard Mall.
Mamma Olivia debuted inside the former home of Olivia’s Mexican Restaurant & Bar, featuring an open kitchen, patio seating inside the mall and a long menu of lunch and dinner options. They have also launched a daily happy hour from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., serving 14 different small plates specials, each priced at $5.
Created by local, fast-casual operators ChiAm, who will also be headed to the mall before the end of the year, the 5,318-square-foot space has set aside initial opening hours of 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. from Nov. 25 to Dec. 10, and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. from Dec. 11 to Dec. 24.
Diners can sit at the large rectangular bar, with its many overheard TVs, or at the main dining room’s collection of traditional or tall table seating.
On the menu, appetizers such as a $14 Caprese salad, $12 beef carpaccio or $9 bruschetta. The 12-inch pizzas are priced between $11 and $15 for the tartufata, created with mozzarella, spicy salami, speck and truffle oil. Lobster ravioli is available for $21 and pasta dishes include a $17 lasagna, $19 linguine clams and $13 pasta primavera.
For main courses, options include the $29 branzino, veal scaloppine marsala or New York strip, and a $31 veal ossobuco served with Parmesan risotto.
