Hooters Casino Hotel has closed the most formal of its resort dining options and will be replacing it with a more casual choice that arrives with a loyal cult following.

Mad Onion Fine Food & Spirits has shuttered its dinner-only, American menu focused on steaks and seafood, and Indianapolis, Indiana-based Steak ‘n Shake will now fill the space.

Already promised to be “coming soon,” this will be the third local franchise for the home of the the infamous, seven-patty, 1,330-calorie, “7x7 Burger.” The first location debuted at South Point in 2010 and a counter-service venture opened at UNLV’s Student Union food court at the start of this year.

Also announced, a fourth expansion, this time into Henderson at 150 St. Rose Parkway Trail, close to the shuttered former home of Hot Head Burritos.

On the Steak ‘n Shake menu, the popular standards of "steakburgers," melts, fries and "hand-dipped shakes," plus chili, "steak franks" and less common sides including cottage cheese, soup and baked beans.
