Locals’ favorite Flock & Fowl brings Hainanese chicken rice to Downtown Las Vegas starting today. The restaurant from Sheridan Su and Jenny Wong features expanded hours — and space — compared to the original location on Sahara Avenue just west of Lucky Dragon. That location will temporarily close to go through a renovation while the Downtown location gets its legs under it.
The restaurant takes over the 2,546-square-foot restaurant from Itsy Bitsy Ramen & Whisky on the ground floor of The Ogden. Last summer, Su and Wong said that neither Flock & Fowl location will accept cash, only credit or debit cards.
Dishes include chicken fat frites, St. Louis pork ribs with a hoisin-tamarind glaze, some of the best chicken wings in town, a kayak toast with Southeastern Asian coconut egg Jam and a fried egg, shrimp toast and hot duck buns.
Of course, the Hainanese chicken rice makes the trek downtown. Indonesian fried chick, curry laska, and nasi goring Indonesian fried rice make up some of the entrees. The restaurant also has dungeness crab for $59.99.
A miso chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream comes in a cast iron pan for $9.99.
