“Bourbon. It’s what’s for dinner” is the new motto at the Westin Las Vegas’ revamped dining destination. In the works since May of last year, Jake & Eli has taken over all the current dining duties at the hotel and also created a round-the-clock bar and lounge with its own menu.
Replacing the Italian- and French-inspired menu of the Savona Bistro, Jake & Eli’s design and backstory has been built around two namesake, but fictitious, creators of bourbon.
Located close to the Strip and favored by a business travel clientele, the Westin’s new breakfast options include the $17 “Jake's Breakfast,” created with pancakes, pork sausages, bacon and hash browns, and the $18 chicken and waffles with smoked pork belly.
The main dining menu includes salads, burgers, fish tacos and $15 steamed buns, Snacks like the $16 crab tater tots, or $12 “Nashville Hot Chicken sliders,” join heartier "meat and three sides” choices including "Kentukyaki glazed beef ribs for two" and a $31, 14oz ribeye, plus sides like roasted butternut squash with pecans. Other entrees include mahi mahi and a grilled mountain trout.
Appropriately featuring a large selection of American, Scottish, Irish and Asian whiskeys, the bar and lounge also offers smaller dishes including“Vidalia onion hush puppies with sorghum catsup,” crispy pork rinds with queso dip and the uncommon bar snack of "salt and pepper squid with pickled chilis and lime."
