Gelato Di Milano is so new that it hasn’t posted confirmed daily opening hours, but the ice cream shop debuted in Spring Valley, bringing an authentic taste of Italian gelato to the neighborhood.

Family operated by natives of Milan, Italy, the owners have completely transformed the former Zen Cleaners at the Centre at Spanish Trail retail center, close to the intersection of Rainbow Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue. The compact space sits next to another recent arrival, Chicken Shack and a short distance from 595 Craft & Kitchen.

The store promises “authentic all natural Italian gelato and artisan coffee,” specializing in affogato and espresso drinks. The early menu features 10 different flavors, such as nocciola, or hazlenut, cioccolato, better known as chocolate, plus tiramisu, cinnamon, pistachio, frutti de bosco and gelato al cannolo Siciliano.

Regular visitors to the center also hoping to sample some traditional Italian fare at Russo's Pizza Kitchen a couple of doors away will no longer be greeted by popular owner Tony Russo. The Russo family has left the business, which is now operated by new management and is considering a new location to start fresh.
